Would you like to support us with our projects? As a volunteer, you'll gain diverse insights into the workings of a cultural association and meet artists from Frankfurt and around the world. If you want to support independent and socially engaged cultural work and become part of a motivated and dynamic community, you've come to the right place!
There are various ways to get involved:

Frankfurt Volunteers
Do you live in Frankfurt or the surrounding area and would like to help with one of our projects? There are always opportunities, because there's never a shortage of helping hands. Of course, we especially need support at our festivals. But throughout the year, there are also occasions when we invite people to join us for activities. Over the years, a vibrant community has developed around the cultural association. If you're interested, please contact us! Or join our Telegram channel , where we often share last-minute updates.

International Volunteers
For many years, we have regularly hosted volunteers from all over the world. Our projects create a diverse team with diverse backgrounds. If you'd like to spend some time living and working with us, get in touch and let's get to know each other. Stays are possible from a few weeks to several months, depending on what works for you. Volunteering with us often takes place through Workaway; or, more recently, through the European Solidarity Corps.

European Solidarity Corps

In 2023, Protagon eV was awarded a quality seal by the European Commission as a hosting organization. This seal certifies the ability and willingness to carry out
This label certifies the ability and willingness to carry out high-quality solidarity activities in accordance with the principles, objectives and quality standards of the European Solidarity Corps.
In 2024, the association began hosting year-round volunteer opportunities, including long-term individual volunteer opportunities and several two- to four-week volunteer team activities.
Each year, protagon eV plans to recruit approximately 50 volunteers under the age of 30 residing in Europe to work on a volunteer team for the Winterwerft Festival in winter, the Sommerwerft Festival in summer, and/or the International Women's* Theatre Festival in September. It also offers two individuals the opportunity to join the association as volunteers for a longer period throughout the year.
The main idea of this project is to provide opportunities for people with fewer opportunities than others in terms of culture and art: people who, for social, geographical, health, or economic reasons, have not had the opportunity to engage with this type of material. The second idea is to bring people from very different backgrounds together in a common living space and initiate a dialogue by sharing work and their daily lives.
